This painting was painted before one of my others, "Woman With Candle and Drape" (now sold) which was an abstraction of this. This was a rather "made up" scene. The model posed in my studio and not in that chair or without a fireplace Those were adaptations from the furniture in my living room. I liked the pose, the intensity of her share. Very nice and very intelligent lady.
