This watercolor is done on illustration board. It was done with not just traditional watercolors, but by adding egg yolk to the water mixtures to achieve a slightly thicker and somewhat shinier finish. I've done several paintings in this method and find it gives me a more painterly feel as I work. This one was done first as a quick sketch while sitting on my balcony in Oaxaca, Mexico. I then did the final painting in my studio.
